Based upon the final confession of Adolf Eichmann made before he was tried and hanged in Isreal in 1962, this powerful film stars Thomas Kretschmann(King Kong, Resident Evil:The Apocalypse) as the SS Officer who orchestrated the mass murder and destruction of millions of innocent people. Captured by intelligence operatives in Argentina, 15 years after World War 2, Eichmann, must be broken down by Captain Avner Less(Troy Garity), a young Isreali Police Officer. Gradually, Avner uncovers the harrowing truth about Eicmann\'s role as the architect of Hilters plan for the Final solution, which killed 6 million Jews including Avners own father. As the world watches, the two men confront each other in a battle of wills - the result of which will change a nations forever.

With a Film such as this you can’t describe it as ‘great’ ‘good’ ‘unmissable’ because it hits a nerve that you wish it hadn’t. Simply on the basis that the you’re fully aware that this is based on fact, not fiction. From the perspective of viewing it’s not a pleasure to watch, but an compelling and interesting account of the facts.
There was never a point in this film that you want stop watching, get bored or find it too much to continue, as it’s a fascinating account of the trial, which a testimony to the script writer and director, but this is not a film for everyone.
The nature of the movie can be guessed, as we all know the history of what happened, but what we probably DON’T know is the history of one of the key personnel in Hilter’s Third Reich, Eichmann.
Compelling viewing from start to finish, but be prepared to be reminded of some of the harrowing facts, of 20th Century history….
